Meet Gillie Coxill, Soft Furnisher and Costumer who worked in both theatre & film in England and NZ

Haere mai, welcome to Reel Talent Tips and Tales podcast, based in New Zealand and celebrating the diverse international film community behind many of the films and television shows we’ve loved over the years.

Today, we are interviewing Gillie Coxill, who is a Costumier and Soft Furnisher. Gillie has over 40 years of experience sewing and creating for theatre, film and television in both London and New Zealand. Some of the film and television projects she did work for over the years include The Hobbit, Avatar, Pearl, Wolfman, Time Bandits(TV series), and  Mirror Mirror(TV series). She worked for the world-renowned Cosprop in London who created historical costumes for Out of Africa, The Cotton Club, Young Sherlock, The French Lieutenant’s Woman, and much more.
